This Privacy Policy explains how ZingShot (the “App”, “we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Viraat Engineering, collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our short-video platform and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

For the purposes of the DPDP Act, Viraat Engineering is the “Data Fiduciary” that determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data. Contact details and our Grievance Officer are provided at the end of this Policy.
We process personal data based on: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time); the necessity to perform our contract with you (providing the Services); our legitimate interests (security, improvement, fraud prevention); and to comply with legal obligations (e.g., financial/tax record-keeping for payouts).

The App shows ads through Google AdMob. Ad partners may use advertising identifiers and cookies/SDKs to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads. You can control ad personalization in your device settings (e.g., “Reset/Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android). Learn how Google uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and content data are retained while your account is active. Financial/payout records are retained as required by tax and accounting laws. Aggregated or anonymized data may be kept longer. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act), you may:
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.
The Services are not intended for children under 18 without verifiable parental/guardian consent, and not for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children in violation of law. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are a creator, we collect and process bank/UPI/PAN/KYC details solely to verify your identity, calculate revenue share, process payouts, and meet legal/tax obligations. This data is shared only with payment processors, banks, and authorities as required. Minimum payout thresholds and revenue-share terms are described in our Terms & Conditions.
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country (e.g., by cloud or ad providers). Where required, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection for such transfers.
The App may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; please review them.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by other reasonable means, and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
